Democrat Tactics? - Supreme Court, Roe v. Wade
I'm starting to get the impression that the Supreme Court push to overturn Roe v. Wade is a tactic being allowed/utilized by the Democrats to ensure states turn Blue.
How best to win the vote of the people who are against Democrats? You threaten to take away something they cherish (abortion), and the only way to keep it is to vote out Governors who are pro-choice. To say it a different way, Democrats seemed to have setup the process by which they will gain more states and still keep abortion legal.
Essentially, if the SCOTUS kills Roe v. Wade, in June, then each state is left to decide how to handle abortion. Each state is run by a particular party. Republicans, most of them, are opposed to child murder. So, when the people go to vote, in November, they will desire abortion over what Republican Governors typically can offer. The majority of our country is pro-death (abortion), so what will happen in November? The majority of the country will vote to keep abortion legal, which means they will vote for Democrats who are pro-choice.
The timing is perfect, leak the story weeks before the final announcement, overturn Roe v. Wade months before gubernatorial elections in November. This gives plenty of time for momentum, anger, and advertisements to be put into play.
If I am correct, I must admit, the Democrats are genius strategists.
Update 6/25/2022, Roe v. Wade overturned!:
The Lord has been merciful to America, a righteous decision has been made by our Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. A brother recently reminded me, "this is now going to be a major ballot topic for these upcoming elections." Agreed. Now, let's see what the Red states do...
Update 6/29/2022:
Well, that didn't take long. The Pennsylvania candidate just utilized the strategy.
- “As Governor, I won’t hesitate to veto any bill that undermines a woman’s right to choose in Pennsylvania,” he wrote. “Doug Mastriano wouldn’t hesitate to sign that bill into law—and outright ban abortion in the Commonwealth. That's the difference"
- “In Pennsylvania, women still have the choice—and that’s because of the veto pen of our Democratic Governor,” Shapiro said. “We can’t lose that veto pen.”
Update 7/3/2022:
The trend appears to be continuing and growing:
- "These governors are highlighting one regulatory advantage that they believe will give them an edge over conservative states: their permissive policies toward abortion."
