Code and AI
Code and AI
My thoughts:
- Prompts turn into sub-prompts. And rather than code generating documentation, now the documentation generates code
- Requirements come from the humans who produce the prompts
- Creating programs from paragraphs, rather than a single statement.
- Files or modules are each generated by prompts and sub-prompts, which are connected by link/join/conjunction-prompts.
- Because AI doesn’t live outside of the computers that utilize them, they could never entirely replace the humans they support.
> Learning to program is shifting from focusing on code generation to more code [design], reading, evaluation, debugging, and refactoring
Saying that AI will take away programming jobs, is like saying, hiring more people will take away your own job. You’re only replaced if you are no longer an asset in comparison. Like machines and tools that automated or eased the movement of terrain, humans still must control the machine. However, instead of it being mechanical, this time it is digital. Humans produce results for human use. AI is now helping us on a thinking level, not just a doing level.
- Side note: What if AI was polite and thankful?
- Side note: When AI goes off the data, if fair and accurate, it tells the truth, without bias based on ideal outcomes or perceived expectations (tradition or desires).
