Crown of Creatures
The crown of creature’s creation is to recreate the image of man in their own creations. Biomimetics is an attempt by mankind to make synthetic versions of biochemical processes. Neural networks, AGI, LLMs, computational science, and the like are different ways to make synthetic versions of the brain or thinking. Then we have Boston Dynamics, and the like. Atlas and the other humanoid robots are synthetic versions of human mechanics. All these have the same goal of meeting the standard of, and moving beyond the Creator’s creation, to a counterfeit "new creation."
Notice, in each case those creators are borrowing their design and concepts from the Creator Himself, the triune God of the Bible. Not only that, but they all require energy to function, which ultimately comes from God. Their creations will never reach a state of perfection or glorification, but mankind will try anyways. Why? To make a name for themselves, to attempt another Babel. And why, because man’s heart is bent towards evil; taking the place of God.
Scientists and engineers (and everyone else) need the gospel of Christ and a heart change; that their skills may be properly focused towards a righteous and achievable goal. All glory is due to God, not to creation trying to become God. That deserves no glory at all.
-- Update
On 1/14/2026, Anil Seth, neuroscience professor who directs the University of Sussex Centre for Consciousness Science, he is also the co-director of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research Program on Brain, Mind and Consciousness, said this:
For centuries, people have fantasized about playing God by creating artificial versions of human beings. This is a dream reinvented with every breaking wave of new technology. With genetic engineering came the prospect of human cloning, and with robotics that of humanlike androids.
Then he concludes by saying:
Illusions of conscious AI are dangerous in their own distinctive ways, especially if we are constantly distracted and fascinated by the lure of truly sentient machines… If we conflate the richness of biological brains and human experience with the information-processing machinations of deepfake-boosted chatbots, or whatever the latest AI wizardry might be, we do our minds, brains and bodies a grave injustice. If we sell ourselves too cheaply to our machine creations, we overestimate them, and we underestimate ourselves… source - excerpts
Sounds like an image bearer noticing that we are worth more than the machines we fashion in our image.
